Riley Strain\u2019s cause of death has been confirmed after the 22-year-old missing college student was found dead<\/a> in Nashville.<\/p>\n

Strain died from drowning and ethanol intoxication, according to an autopsy report obtained by TMZ<\/a> on Tuesday, June 18. His manner of death was listed as accidental. The outlet reported also reported that docs stated Strain\u2019s blood alcohol level was 0.228 percent when his body was examined, and there were \u201ctraces of THC\u201d found as well. TMZ noted there was \u201cno evidence of significant trauma to his body.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of Strain\u2019s autopsy report comes two months after his mom, Michelle Whiteid<\/strong>, shared her son\u2019s final text messages before he died.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had sent me a text and said he was drinking a rum and coke and it didn\u2019t taste good,\u201d she told NewsNation on April 16. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Well, you probably shouldn\u2019t drink it then.\u2019 And he goes, \u2018It tastes like barbecue,\u2019 and I go, \u2018Well, that sounds awful,\u2019 and he said, \u2018It sounds good, but it\u2019s not.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Whiteid speculated: \u201cMaybe there was something in it that shouldn\u2019t have been.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strain was visiting Nashville with his University of Missouri fraternity, Delta Chi, for a spring formal before his disappearance. He was last seen on March 8 after leaving Luke Bryan<\/strong>\u2019s restaurant<\/a> Luke\u2019s 32 Bridge Food + Drink. His friends reported him missing when he did not return to his hotel room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe boys called him, and he said, \u2018I\u2019m walking back to my hotel,\u2019\u201d Strain\u2019s stepfather, Chris Whiteid<\/strong>, told local news outlet WSMV on March 11. \u201cThey didn\u2019t think anything about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strain\u2019s mother, Whiteid,\u00a0noted that his disappearance had been \u201cso hard\u201d on her, adding, \u201cI just need to know where my son is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strain was asked to leave Luke\u2019s 32 Bridge Food + Drink the night he went missing. In a March 15 statement, the restaurant and its owner, TC Restaurant Group, claimed that he was only served one alcoholic drink and two waters before exiting the establishment. Strain was later seen stumbling down the street and taking a wrong turn away from his hotel in video footage.<\/p>\n

Amid the search, Strain\u2019s mother tearfully emphasized in a Tuesday, March 19, press conference that the family was \u201cfocusing on bringing Riley home.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also shared that Strain\u2019s friends were \u201cheartbroken\u201d over his disappearance. \u201cHe\u2019s their best friend,\u201d she explained. \u201cWe love these boys like our own. It\u2019s just as hard on them as it is on us.\u201d<\/p>\n
