After shepherding the careers of Justin Bieber<\/strong><\/a> and Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a>, Scooter Braun<\/strong><\/a> announced on Monday, June 17, that he was retiring as a music manager. Trolls flooded his \u200bInstagram post<\/a> to celebrate him leaving the industry.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter 23 years this chapter as a music manager has come to an end,\u201d Scooter, 42, wrote in a lengthy post. He explained how he began his profession at the age of 19, \u201cAnd for 20 years I love it. It\u2019s all I had known,\u201d before going on to detail how he developed Justin and Ariana\u2019s careers.<\/p>\n Along the way, Scooter has made some enemies and become a controversial figure, especially after purchasing the masters to Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s first six albums in 2019, a move she publicly blasted him for<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I\u2019ll say GOOD RIDDANCE,\u201d one person wrote in the comments of Scooter\u2019s retirement statement, while another added, \u201cWE WONT MISS YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWow it took you 23 years to do it thank god the day finally arrived,\u201d one follower wrote, while another added, \u201c23 years too late.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUR SO EVIL MAN,\u201d one person commented, as another wrote, \u201cWE CHEERED NOBODY GONNA MISS YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n When Taylor, 34, found out that Scooter\u2019s Ithaca Holdings purchased her catalogue from Big Machine Records, she wrote a scathing post via Tumblr on June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n When she discovered along with the rest of the world that he bought her master recordings, \u201cAll I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I\u2019ve received at his hands for years,\u201d she wrote. \u201cEssentially, my musical legacy<\/a> is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it,\u201d Taylor added.<\/p>\n The \u201cKarma\u201d singer continued, \u201cLike when Kim Kardashian<\/strong> orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked and then Scooter got his two clients together to bully me online about it. (See photo),\u201d which showed a picture of the music manager along with Justin, 30, and Kanye West<\/strong>. \u201cOr when his client, Kanye West, organized a revenge porn music video which strips my body naked.\u201d<\/p>\n In October 2020, Scooter\u2019s company sold Taylor\u2019s catalogue to Shamrock Holdings, after which she decided to re-record her first six albums.<\/p>\n By August 2023, reports began to emerge that Justin, Demi Lovato and other high-profile clients were parting ways with Scooter<\/a>.<\/p>\n In his retirement statement, the former artists rep referred to losing a top client, whom some believe is Ariana, 30.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of my biggest clients and friends told me that they wanted to spread their wings and go in a new direction. We had been through so much together over the last decade, but instead of being hurt I saw it as a sign,\u201d he wrote. \u201cYou see, life doesn\u2019t hand you YOUR plan, it hands you GOD\u2019s plan.
