\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Jonathan Groff<\/strong><\/a> teared up during his Tony Award speech and it made us a little teary too!<\/p>\n The 39-year-old actor won his first Tony at the 2024 Tony Awards<\/strong><\/a><\/em> on Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.<\/p>\n Jonathan<\/strong> won Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance in the musical Merrily We Roll Along<\/em>. His co-star Daniel Radcliffe<\/strong><\/a> also won!<\/p>\n During his teary speech, Jonathan <\/strong>had some beautiful words to say about his family.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThank you for letting me dress up like Mary Poppins when I was 3. Thank you for letting me act out scenes from I Love Lucy<\/em> on my 10th birthday. Thank you for always allowing my freak flag to fly without ever making me feel weird about it,\u201d he said. \u201cEven if they didn\u2019t always understand me, my family knew the lifesaving power of fanning the flame of a young person\u2019s passions without judgment.
