Jodie Turner-Smith weighed in on ex-husband Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o’s romance in an interview with The Cut
When asked by the publication if it was \u201cweird<\/i>\u201d to see Jackson begin to date, she replied, \u201cGood for them<\/i><\/b>.\u201d
\u201cWe need happiness in order to peacefully co-parent,<\/b><\/i>\u201d she said, referring to their daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson<\/b>, born in April 2020. \u201cI\u2019m trying to get us to the Gwyneth and Chris Martin level<\/b>. I truly hope they\u2019re happy and that it benefits us as a family<\/b><\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\nIn the interview she also reflected on how their relationship defined her place in Hollywood for as long as she has been famous, starting on the 2019 premiere of ‘Queen & Slim’, her first leading role.
She was 20 weeks pregnant at the time and had just gotten married to Jackson a few months prior.
\u201cIt all came from a really innocent place<\/i>,\u201d she says. \u201cI didn\u2019t understand how sinister that could end up being for me. It was taking away from a moment that I needed to have on my own<\/b>. It opened up a very painful conversation to the world about who I was with and how right or wrong it was to be with that person. And when you\u2019re pregnant, it\u2019s like the most vulnerable time of your life.<\/i>\u201d
Jodie filed for divorce from Joshua in October 2023, after nearly four years of marriage.
“I didn\u2019t have an accurate scope of understanding what it would mean to share my relationship with the public<\/b>. It\u2019s something I will never do again.
