Kevin Costner<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s John Dutton could appear in the final episodes of Yellowstone <\/i><\/a>after all.<\/p>\n

\u201cKevin has reconsidered his stance on returning to Yellowstone<\/em>. He would come back if he receives a script he likes and they can agree on the terms,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/i>. \u201cThere is significant conflict at the moment, and while he is currently not involved, things could change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Costner, 69, confirmed his potential interest in returning to Yellowstone Ranch during a Sunday, June 16, interview with CBS Sunday Mornings<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I like the story [and] where it was going, I would go back,\u201d he said in the interview, denying that he left the show in order to make his upcoming film <\/a>Horizon<\/a>. <\/i>\u201cI did everything that I was contracted to do with Yellowstone<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tYellowstone is known for its family feuds, wild west antics and cowboy controversies \u2014 and the remaining season 5 episodes will continue to bring the drama. The first half of Yellowstone\u2019s final season finished airing in January 2023, and the show was subsequently in limbo. Paramount later confirmed in May 2023 that the rest of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the insider, Costner could appear in either a present-day or flashback scene depending on whether he approved of showrunner Taylor Sheridan<\/strong>\u2019s script.<\/p>\n

Costner has starred as John Dutton on the Western series since the series began in 2018. Rumors later swirled that Costner allegedly had tension with Sheridan, 54, over the filming schedule, which halted during production on season 5. (The first batch of episodes debuted in January 2023, but a premiere date for the remaining episodes has not been announced.)<\/p>\n

The source also tells Us <\/i>that filming for the finale has started, but the scripts are \u201cstill being revised,\u201d leaving \u201ca potential\u201d to write Costner into the scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cShow producers have also shifted their perspective, acknowledging that they might need to bring him back to achieve some resolution,\u201d the insider says. \u201cThey\u2019ve been working out a way to do without him, but it\u2019s been difficult. There\u2019s a void in the story without him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Costner had previously denied that his Yellowstone <\/i>exit was the result of a feud with Sheridan or his busy schedule with the four-part Horizon.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI have taken a beating from those f\u2013king guys and I know a lot of times where it\u2019s coming from,\u201d he told Deadline last month<\/a> of the rumors. \u201cI just elected not to get into that.
