Fans have speculated that Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> song \u201cThe Black Dog\u201d is about Joe Alwyn<\/strong><\/a>, but he has some Swifties rethinking the theory after dishing on the pair\u2019s split in a new interview.<\/p>\n Joe, 33, was interviewed by Sunday Times Style<\/em><\/a> and asked whether The Black Dog pub in Vauxhall, London, was one of his favorite restaurants to frequent. \u201cI\u2019ve never been to Vauxhall,\u201d the actor said. However, the author noted that Joe was \u201csmiling a smile that hints there is more to say.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor, 34, released \u201cThe Black Dog\u201d in April as part of her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>. In the first verse, she sings, \u201cI am someone who until recent events you shared your secrets with and your location, you forgot to turn it off, and so I watch as you walk, into some bar called The Black Dog, and pierce new holes through my heart, you forgot to turn it off.\u201d<\/p>\n While Matty Healy<\/strong> is theorized to be the subject of a majority of TTPD\u2019s<\/em> songs, fans noticed that the timeline of \u201cThe Black Dog\u201d pointed more towards Joe<\/a>. \u201cSix weeks of breathing clean air, I still miss the smoke,\u201d the Grammy winner sings later in the song. When TTPD<\/em> was released, producer Jack Antonoff<\/strong> shared behind-the-scenes footage from the studio and one clip showed Taylor recording \u201cThe Black Dog.\u201d She was wearing an outfit that fans recognized from paparazzi photos taken in May 2023, about six weeks after her breakup from Joe.<\/p>\n Despite Joe\u2019s insistence that he\u2019s never been to the Vauxhall pub, the bar\u2019s owner told a different story<\/a>.
