The 56-year-old \u2018My Heart Will Go On\u2019 singer was left devastated when her music producer husband of 22 years Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil died from throat cancer aged 73 in 2016, and has now opened up about how she feels him around her.<\/p>\n
Canadian C\u00e9line, who is battling Stiff Person Syndrome, says in her upcoming \u2018I Am: C\u00e9line Dion\u2019 documentary: \u201cI\u2019m still married to Ren\u00e9 \u2013 he\u2019s still my husband.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we have to travel to my treatments to see my doctors, I always bring pictures (of Ren\u00e9.)<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd we have pictures, of course, all over the place in the house.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe new documentary on C\u00e9line is due out on Amazon Prime Video from 25 June.<\/p>\n
\nShe recently told how the children she had with Ren\u00e9 are worried she will be killed by her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.<\/p>\n
\nC\u00e9line was forced to stop performing following her 2022 diagnosis of the rare condition, and said during an interview on Australia\u2019s \u2018Sunrise\u2019 morning show: \u201cI don\u2019t have my mom. I don\u2019t have my dad. My kids are scared because they lost their dad.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey\u2019re wondering if I\u2019m going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nC\u00e9line had her three sons \u2013 Ren\u00e9-Charles, 23, and 13-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy \u2013 with Ren\u00e9.<\/p>\n
\nHer illness causes progressive muscle stiffness and repeated muscle spasms.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer was first hit symptoms in 2008, but they worsened by 2021 when she had to postpone her Las Vegas residency due to \u201csevere\u201d spams and she later cancelled her \u2018Courage\u2019 world tour.<\/p>\n
\nShe also recently admitted she did not \u201ctake the time\u201d to understand the early symptoms of her Stiff Person Syndrome.<\/p>\n
\nC\u00e9line told broadcaster Hoda Kotb, 59, on the \u2018Today\u2019 show: \u201cI did not take the time I should have stopped, take the time to figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nReferring to how she was caring for ill Ren\u00e9 at the time she was suffering, she added: \u201cMy husband as well was fighting for his own life. I had to raise my kids, I had to hide. I had to try to be a hero.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut she added about her symptoms becoming too unbearable to stop sharing with her loved ones: \u201cFeeling my body leaving me, holding on to my own dreams\u2026 I could not do this anymore.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLying for me, the burden was too much. Lying to the people who got me where I am today, I could not do it anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added her stiffness can also sometimes feel like parts of her body are locked into place, saying: \u201cIt feels like, if I point my feet, they will stay (there.) <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s cramping but it\u2019s like in a position where you cannot unlock them. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI have broken ribs at one point because sometimes when its very severe, it can break.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
