Nakasone, a retired general of the US Army and a former head of the National Security Agency (NSA), to its board of directors, <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/openai-appoints-retired-us-army-general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the company announced on Thursday<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Nakasone, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2018\/02\/13\/nsa-cyber-command-nakasone-337114\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nominated to lead the NSA<\/a> by former President Donald Trump, directed the agency from 2018 until February of this year.
