The cast and crew of ABC\u2019s General Hospital<\/em><\/a> have memorialized late cast member, Johnny Wactor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After an episode that aired on Tuesday, 11 June, a title card that paid tribute to the actor, who was fatally shot<\/a> on May 25, was shown.<\/p>\n

The card featured a photo of Wactor alongside text that read \u2018In Loving Memory Of Johnny Wactor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor, who starred in the soap opera as Brando Corbin between 2020 and 2022, died at age 37.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood mourned many celebrities in 2024. Speed Racer star Christian Oliver (born Christian Klepser) died at the age of 51 during a fatal plane crash on January 5. Oliver was traveling home from a Caribbean vacation with his two daughters \u2014 Madita and Annik, whom he shared with wife Jessica Klepser \u2014 on January 4. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time General Hospital<\/em> has collectively paid its respects. An official statement was released by ABC via X<\/a> on May 26, which read, \u201cThe entire General Hospital<\/em> family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor\u2019s untimely passing. He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The onscreen dedication follows Giovanni Mazza<\/strong>, who portrays Gio Palmieri on the show, telling Us Weekly<\/em> that his colleagues will never forget<\/a> Wactor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do believe that it\u2019ll stay with all of us,\u201d Mazza, who joined the series in May, told Us<\/em> on Friday, June 7, at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. \u201cI didn\u2019t personally know him, but I know a lot of actors and actresses and \u2026 the entire family just mourns his loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cWe strive forward with his memory and we move on and do our best for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany celebrities have soap operas to thank for launching their careers. Before becoming an Oscar winner, Julianne Moore got her start on As the World Turns in 1988. She portrayed sisters Frannie Hughes and Sabrina Hughes, which scored her a Daytime Emmy in 1988. Moore eventually exited the series to kickstart her film career. Like [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Wactor\u2019s mother, Scarlett<\/strong>, confirmed her son\u2019s death one day after it occured, telling TMZ<\/a><\/em> the tragedy left \u201ca huge hole in the family\u2019s heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

An autopsy obtained by Us<\/em> confirmed that Wactor died by homicide<\/a>. His manner of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the chest.<\/p>\n

Wactor had been out with a colleague at the time and was allegedly trying to protect her from perpetrators who were attempting to steal a car. Wactor\u2019s brother, Grant<\/strong>, later explained to the Daily Mail<\/a> that his brother recently finished a bartending shift.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk to their car by herself,\u201d Grant told the outlet at the time. \u201cHe came across them and he thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys, like, \u2018Hey, are you towing?\u2019 And then once he turned around, he saw what was happening and he put his coworker behind him. And that\u2019s when they shot him.\u201d<\/p>\n

When news of Miller\u2019s death broke in September 2023, several celebrities took to social media to pay [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Grant also spoke to Extra<\/em><\/a> on May 28, sharing<\/a> that he tried calling his brother \u201cthree or four times\u201d and texted him prior to the tragic news being confirmed. \u201cI was calling the hospital, called the police as many times I could, had a hard time getting through until I finally got somebody to put me in touch with the detective. Once I got a hold of the detective, we were pretty confident that we were right.\u201d<\/p>\n
