That means what users like on the platform will be hidden by default, which is already an option for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/9\/14\/23873842\/twitter-x-premium-hide-likes-tab-feature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X\u2019s Premium subscribers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">A few weeks ago, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wanghaofei\/status\/1793096366132195529\" target=\"_blank\">company\u2019s director of engineering, Haofei Wang<\/a>, said the change is meant to protect users\u2019 public image\u00a0\u2014 because \u201cmany people feel discouraged\u201d to like \u201cedgy\u201d content. The Likes tab on user profiles will be gone. Users will still be able to see who liked their posts and the like count for all posts, but they will not see the people who liked someone else\u2019s post, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/enriquebrgn\/status\/1793140173913641271\" target=\"_blank\">according<\/a> to X senior software engineer Enrique Barragan.
