Nicki Minaj<\/a>\u00a0has left her fans puzzled after posting a cryptic post to her X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n The rapper, 41, who is currently globetrotting while on her\u00a0Pink Friday 2 World Tour, took to the social media platform to <\/span>tell her fans about an Instagram post<\/a> she shared showing off <\/span>the new Dolce and Gabbana dress she wore<\/a> on a recent stop in Paris, France.<\/span><\/p>\n That same day, she wrote, “Yes\u00a0Single \u2026,” without indicating what she was referring to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The post left the rapper’s fans wondering if she’s teasing a new single (most likely) or sharing an\u00a0ambiguous update on her relationship status.<\/span><\/p>\n Minaj — born Onika Tanya Maraj —\u00a0<\/span>married high school flame Kenneth Petty<\/a>\u00a0in October 2019, and they are parents to a 3-year-old son, whom they refer to publicly as Papa Bear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The rapper has frequently\u00a0<\/span>defended her husband<\/a>\u00a0against social media criticism for his criminal record.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Petty’s sex offender registration is a result of a 1994\u00a0incident, where a 16-year-old girl reported that Petty raped her at knifepoint. Petty, who was also 16 at the time, was charged with first-degree rape. He initially denied the accusations before pleading guilty to attempted rape. He served more than four years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.<\/span><\/p>\n In November 2019, during a traffic stop, law enforcement discovered that Petty had yet to register as a sex\u00a0offender in California\u00a0after he moved to the state from New York, according to his booking sheet, which ET previously obtained.<\/span><\/p>\n Petty was indicted for failing to register as a sex offender in California in March 2020 after which time he self-surrendered, the U.S. Marshals\u00a0<\/span>confirmed<\/a>\u00a0on social media. At the time, Petty\u00a0<\/span>was released<\/a>\u00a0on a $20,000 bond.<\/span><\/p>\n In July 2022, Petty was sentenced to a year of house arrest and three years of probation, plus a $55,000 fine, ET confirmed at the time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n More recently, Petty was\u00a0<\/span>granted permission to travel internationally\u00a0while on probation<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Minaj’s mysterious post prompted varying responses from her fans online.<\/span><\/p>\n “Nicki is dropping a new single or is single, we won either way,” one X user wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n “She literally just announced pink friday girls is the next single. How slow are y’all?” another user posted.<\/span><\/p>\n The cryptic post comes over a week after <\/span>the rapper\u00a0canceled her second Amsterdam tour date<\/a> after being detained for alleged drug possession.<\/span><\/p>\n The rapper was arrested<\/a>\u00a0at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on May 25 after Dutch authorities claimed she had marijuana \u2013 classified by the country as a “soft drug” \u2013 in her luggage, causing her to postpone her Pink Friday 2 World Tour concert at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On May 31, Dutch promoter Mojo\u00a0<\/span>announced on its website<\/a>\u00a0that Minaj’s June 2 show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome had been canceled.<\/span><\/p>\n “Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place,” the company’s statement read. “Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.”<\/span><\/p>\n
