In videos shared online by her fans, the 29-year-old rapper gets choked up as she readies to launch into her hit song, “Cobra,” while onstage at\u00a0the Amalie Arena in Tampa on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n In <\/span>a video shared to X (formerly Twitter)<\/a>, Megan\u00a0can be seen putting her head down and taking a deep breath to collect herself before the song begins. But as the backing track of “Cobra” begins, Megan visibly struggles to perform the lyrics and has to cut herself off as she fans her face with her hand and covers her eyes to stop herself from crying.<\/span><\/p>\n As the GRAMMY winner works to gather herself, her fans rally around to cheer her on as loud as possible. The video itself features a message to the rapper, which reads, “We love you queen,” which was echoed by fans on X who got the hashtag\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>#WeLoveYouMegan trending over the weekend<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n While the rapper hasn’t spoken out about what prompted the emotional moment, it comes after rumors that an AI-generated sex tape allegedly featuring Megan’s likeness has been circulating online.<\/span><\/p>\n The “Hiss” rapper <\/span>seemingly addressed the “fake a**” video earlier on Saturday<\/a>, before her concert. “It’s really sick how y’all go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning,” Megan wrote on X. “Y’all going too far, Fake a** s**t. The rapper’s self-titled third studio album is slated to drop on June 28, and she’s been previewing different looks for the upcoming release on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n Megan announced the album release in a tweet alongside the first album cover earlier this month. “SURPRISE HOTTIESSSS!!!! On Aug. 8, three years after Megan\u00a0accused Lanez of shooting her in the feet,\u00a0<\/span>he was sentenced to\u00a010\u00a0years in prison<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “I feel like everybody was always used to me being the fun and happy party girl. I watched people build me up, tear me down, and be confused about their expectations of me. As a Black woman, as a darker Black woman, I also feel like people expect me to take the punches, take the beating, take the lashings, and handle it with grace. But I’m human,” she shared.<\/span><\/p>\n The “Savage” rapper confessed that\u00a0<\/span>she was suffering in silence<\/a>, keeping up a facade for the public.<\/span><\/p>\n “Before I went onstage, I would be crying half the time because I didn’t want to [perform], but I also didn’t want to upset my fans,” she recalled. “I didn’t want to get [out] from under the covers. I stayed in my room. I would not turn the lights on. I had blackout curtains. I didn’t want to see the sun. I knew I wasn’t myself. It took me a while to acknowledge that I was depressed. But once I started talking to a therapist, I was able to be truthful with myself.”<\/span><\/p>\n Megan has been a vocal advocate for utilizing mental health resources. In 2022, the rapper\u00a0<\/span>announced the launch<\/a>\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/span>Pete and Thomas Foundation<\/a>.
