Maren Morris<\/strong><\/a> celebrated Pride month 2024 by coming out as bisexual in an Instagram<\/a> post. The country star shared photos from her concert in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, June 9, and included some shots of herself proudly holding a rainbow flag.<\/p>\n \u201cHappy to be the B in LGBTQ+,\u201d Maren, 34, captioned her post. \u201cHappy pride.\u201d<\/p>\n Maren\u2019s coming out comes five months after she finalized her divorce<\/a> from Ryan Hurd<\/strong> in January. The Texas native filed for divorce<\/a> from Ryan, 37, in October 2023 after more than five years of marriage. The exes shared a 4-year-old son, Hayes.<\/p>\n She also made headlines in September 2023 after announcing that she would be leaving country music and taking her career in a different direction. However, she clarified two months later that she has \u201cnot left\u201d the country music industry completely.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I said was I\u2019m leaving behind the toxic parts of it,\u201d the \u201cBones\u201d singer explained on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em>. \u201cAnd that\u2019s like any part of the music industry \u2013 just certain things that I\u2019m in control of. I want to take the good parts with me.\u201d She also released a two-song EP called The Bridge<\/em>, with one of the tracks produced by pop music producer Jack Antonoff<\/strong>, who has worked with Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n \u201cI just felt like I was leaving some things in country music behind that didn\u2019t really serve me anymore,\u201d she said of the EP. \u201cCalling it The Bridge<\/em> felt like the step to the next thing, whatever that is.\u201d<\/p>\n When she initially announced her decision to \u201ctake a step back\u201d from country, Maren admitted to feeling \u201cvery, very distanced\u201d from the politics of the industry. \u201cI thought I\u2019d like to burn it to the ground and start over,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it\u2019s burning itself down without my help.\u201d She added, \u201cI\u2019ve always been an asker of questions and a status quo challenger just by being a woman. So it wasn\u2019t really even a choice. The further you get into the country music business, that\u2019s when you start to see the cracks. And once you see it, you can\u2019t unsee it.\u201d<\/p>\n Maren has not shared her plans for the release of her next full-length album. Her last record, Humble Quest<\/em>, came out in March 2022. The Grammy winner is currently on her RSVP Redux tour, which features her playing more intimate shows in smaller venues around the country. This summer, she\u2019s also playing at various music festivals and doing some shows with Maroon 5.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
