Billie Eilish<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about the cost of fame.<\/p>\n

The \u201cLunch\u201d singer, 22, says she lost \u201call of my friends\u201d after becoming famous at age 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I lost all of my friends when I got famous,\u201d Eilish said on the Monday, June 10, episode of the BBC\u2019s \u201cMiss Me?\u201d podcast<\/a> hosted by singer Lily Allen<\/strong> and British TV personality Miquita Oliver<\/strong>. \u201cI suddenly was famous and I couldn\u2019t relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner<\/a> said only one pal, her best friend Zoe, stuck by her after she hit it big with the song \u201cOcean Eyes\u201d in 2016. By the time she turned 20, Eilish was mostly surrounded by people who worked for her.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBoth precocious child prodigies turned global, Grammy-winning pop superstars, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish have had a long overlapping history. Swift and Eilish, who released their debut albums at the ages of 16 and 17, respectively, have frequently celebrated each other\u2019s successes within the industry. Swift even passed the baton to Eilish at Billboard\u2019s 2019 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAnd then it was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and it was only people that I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me,\u201d the singer recalled.<\/p>\n

Eilish said she struggled when one of her employees quit their job and stopped speaking to her. \u201cIt was the worst thing that happened to me. And that made me realize like, \u2018Oh wait, this is a job.\u2019 If they left me, they would never see me again,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

As a result of her friendship struggles in the past, the \u201cWhat Was I Made For?\u201d singer now has difficulty being friends with people she works with.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very freaked out by loss and I have a lot of abandonment problems,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

However, in happier news, the singer said she has made a concerted effort to get back in touch with old friends and make new ones.<\/p>\n
