Jessie James Decker<\/strong><\/a> broke down into tears after confirming her children are safe following a Nashville school shooting nearby that killed six people<\/a> on Monday, March 27.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of you are messaging and it\u2019s not my kids\u2019 school, but it\u2019s only two miles up the road,\u201d Decker, 34, said in an Instagram Story video on Monday. \u201cIt\u2019s in our town. It\u2019s in our community. It is just awful. I\u2019m just heartbroken for these families.\u201d<\/p>\n The Kittenish founder<\/a> \u2014 who shares daughter Vivianne, 9, and sons Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 4<\/a>, with husband Eric Decker<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 couldn\u2019t hold back her tears as she spoke to her followers about the heartbreak that she and the whole Tennessee community were feeling.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease pray so hard for these families and this community. This just should not be happening,\u201d she said, explaining, \u201cI went and picked up the kids immediately and they\u2019re home safe. This just \u2026 what is happening in the world?\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cBoys in the Summer\u201d songstress<\/a> implored her fans to \u201cplease pray for these babies, these families\u201d before concluding her message.<\/p>\n News broke on Monday that a heavily armed woman entered the Covenant School in Nashville and opened fire. The 28-year-old assailant killed three children and three staff members before she was fatally shot by members of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have to do more to stop gun violence,\u201d President Joe Biden<\/strong><\/a> said in a statement shortly after the incident. \u201cIt\u2019s ripping our communities apart. It\u2019s ripping at the very soul of the nation. We have to do more to protect our schools, so they aren\u2019t turned into prisons.\u201d<\/p>\n The public outcry to ban assault rifles following the latest U.S. school shooting was immense. Many country music stars clapped back at the relaxed gun laws not only in Tennessee but throughout the country.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a mother, I\u2019m pissed the f\u2014k off,\u201d Mickey Guyton<\/strong><\/a> wrote via Twitter<\/a> on Monday. \u201cShame on every single politician OK with doing nothing as children are getting assassinated on an everyday basis in a place that is supposed to be their safe haven.\u201d<\/p>\n Carly Pearce<\/strong><\/a> shared her own message via social media, writing<\/a>, \u201cPray for Nashville. A shooting at a school has occurred. Three children dead. Praying for these babies & their families. Absolutely devastating \ud83d\udc94.\u201d<\/p>\n Jessie, meanwhile, was one of many Nashville residents<\/a> who updated their fans about their children\u2019s safety on Monday. Kristin Cavallari<\/strong><\/a>, who shares sons Camden, 10, and Jaxon, 8, and daughter Saylor, 7,<\/a> with ex-husband Jay Cutler<\/strong><\/a>, told her followers via her Instagram Story that her little ones were safe at home.<\/p>\n \u201cWe luckily weren\u2019t affected by this morning\u2019s shooting.
