Caitlin Clark<\/strong><\/a> made a splash in her rookie year<\/a> in the WNBA, but she will reportedly not be taking her skills to the 2024 Paris Olympics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Team USA has not formally announced their women\u2019s basketball roster for the upcoming Games, but multiple outlets report that Clark, 22, will not be among the athletes. According to NBC News<\/a>, the United States will bring the likes of Brittney Griner<\/strong>, A\u2019ja Wilson<\/strong> and Breanna Stewart<\/strong> to France.<\/p>\n

USA Today<\/i><\/a>, meanwhile, cited two sources who were \u201clongtime U.S. basketball veterans with decades of experience in the women\u2019s game\u201d in their report. The insiders claimed that team management was concerned about how Clark\u2019s legion of devoted fans would react to her potentially limited playing time considering the amount of other athletes on the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have not made any official announcement yet,\u201d a spokesperson for Team USA told NBC News in a Saturday, June 8, statement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCaitlin Clark is changing the trajectory of women\u2019s basketball with her record-breaking stats and long-range shots \u2014 and celebrities are taking notice. The senior Iowa Hawkeyes guard averaged 32 points per game during the regular season, and in March she became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer across men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball, breaking a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Clark, for her part, has not addressed the reports.<\/p>\n

Team USA previously announced this week that Cameron Brink<\/strong>, a member of Clark\u2019s draft class, Rhyne Howard<\/strong>, Hailey Van Lith<\/strong> and Cierra Burdick<\/strong> will represent the U.S. in the women\u2019s 3 x 3 event.<\/p>\n

Clark was one of the top collegiate athletes<\/a> for the University of Iowa\u2019s team before entering the WNBA Draft earlier this year. She was the No. 1 pick, signing with the Indiana Fever.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a little anxious there before the pick,\u201d Clark gushed to ESPN after the draft round<\/a>. \u201cBut, more than anything, I\u2019m just grateful and lucky to have my family here and my friends over there, coaches up here. I\u2019ve dreamed of this moment since second grade and it\u2019s taken a lot of hard work [and] a lot of ups and downs, but more than anything, [I\u2019m] trying to soak it in.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI think the biggest thing is that I always just believed in myself \u2026 [and] my parents always instilled confidence in me as a young girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
