Netherlands considers not participating in Eurovision after Joost Klein controversy https:\/\/t.co\/YD1cOwEGjr<\/a><\/p>\n

– Because of the “unsafe surroundings, bad vibes and pressure on contestants wrt pro-Palestine protests and rainbow flags” AvroTros (the peeps that take care of it in NL) are “seriously considering” participating next year; <\/p>\n

– EBU is still doing their own research if things were really that bad, but has already admitted that queer flags shouldn’t have been denied; <\/p>\n

– AvroTros has been asked to join EBU’s research and is willing, but rather has an independent, external party do the research-part of the research. They want that the entire process from selecting artists to the festival and how press and countries function around it is looked into; <\/p>\n

– They still support Joost Klein: “based on the information we had and have we feel like a disqualification was unnecessary and disproportional.”<\/p>\n
