It will be the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/4\/17\/24132827\/tesla-elon-musk-pay-package-shareholder-vote-delaware\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">second time<\/a>\u00a0that shareholders will vote on the CEO\u2019s pay, after\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/1\/30\/24056177\/elon-musk-tesla-tornetta-55-billion-pay-package-rejected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Delaware judge voided the first one<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year on the grounds that the approval process was \u201cdeeply flawed.\u201d And now the company is engaged in a full-court press to convince shareholders to approve the proposal a second time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-pullquote mb-20\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup relative bg-repeating-lines-dark bg-[length:1px_1.2em] pb-8 font-polysans text-28 font-medium leading-120 tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20  dark:bg-repeating-lines-light dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple\">\u201cElon is not a typical executive, and Tesla is not a typical company\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Later, she implies that Musk could decamp to \u201cother places\u201d without proper motivation. \u201cWhat we recognized in 2018 and continue to recognize today is that one thing Elon most certainly does not have is unlimited time,\u201d Denholm says. \u201cNor does he face any shortage of ideas and other places he can make an incredible difference in the world. We want those ideas, that energy and that time to be at Tesla, for the benefit of you, our owners. But early voting seems to suggest that he could end up getting what he wants. A report by trading platform eToro from last month showed that about 25 percent of Tesla\u2019s shares have already voted,\u00a0<em>Reuters<\/em>\u00a0said. Of those, more than 80 percent were in favor of Musk\u2019s package.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Still, Musk is seeking more control over Tesla, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/05\/20\/elon-musk-confirms-threat-give-me-25-of-tesla-or-no-ai-robotics\/#:~:text=Elon%20Musk%20appears%20to%20confirmed,company%20is%20worthless%20without%20those.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">form of a 25 percent stake<\/a>, in order to achieve his goals of developing artificial intelligence and self-driving cars. (He currently holds about 13 percent of the company after selling billions of dollars of shares to acquire Twitter.)
