Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> was only a teenager during the OJ Simpson<\/strong> trial<\/a>, but she remembers it well enough to be in awe of how producer Ryan Murphy<\/strong><\/a> portrayed her family in the 2016 American Crime Story<\/em> series, The People vs. OJ Simpson<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Watching it back, Kardashian, 43, recalled even asking Murphy how he was able to nail the exact details of her father, Simpson\u2019s lawyer, the late Robert Kardashian Sr.<\/strong>. She shared the story with Chlo\u00eb Sevigny<\/strong> in an episode of Variety<\/em>\u2019s \u201cActors on Actors,\u201d<\/a> published Wednesday, June 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI loved it. Some people were over and they hadn\u2019t seen it \u2014 I watched it years and years ago \u2014 and I wanted to see if my recollection was right on the portrayal of my dad,\u201d Kim recalled. \u201cI thought it was just done so well. I remember asking Ryan, who were your sources? Because that was my dad\u2019s exact bracelet. That was our home! They actually rented the home that we grew up in at that period of time. Little things were wrong, but minimal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends star David Schwimmer<\/strong> portrayed Robert, the defense attorney and longtime friend to Simpson (Cuba Gooding Jr.<\/strong>). The NFL star, who died at age 76 from cancer in April, was also Kim\u2019s godfather.<\/p>\n

After the former NFL player was arrested in connection to the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1994, he enlisted Kardashian to become part of his legal [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now that Kim is in law school, she says it\u2019s given her an opportunity to revisit the series and watch it in a new light.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it was just fascinating to watch and see it from a different perspective, especially now, since I\u2019m in law school,\u201d she said. \u201cSeeing it from a legal point of view is just fascinating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite her connection to the trial, Kim does not often speak publicly<\/a> about it, explaining that she wants to respect OJ and Nicole Brown Simpson<\/strong>\u2019s children, Sydney and Justin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just respect his children, so if I were to say something that would hurt someone\u2019s feelings publicly \u2014 unless they\u2019re coming for me and I have to defend myself or a family member \u2014 then I\u2019m aware,\u201d she said in a 2020 interview with David Letterman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
