Erich Anderson is being hailed as an \u2018acting great\u2019 in the wake of his cancer death aged 67<\/p>\n
\nThe passing of the \u2018Felicity\u2019 and \u2018Thirtysomething\u2019 star was announced by his actress wife Saxon Trainor, 60, who shared the news on her Instagram.<\/p>\n
\nShe said on Tuesday (04.06.24): \u201cMy husband Erich died this morning. I am sharing my brother-in-law Michael O\u2019Malley\u2019s words as I am too bereft now to write anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMichael\u2019s words were added to Saxon\u2019s post, which read: \u201cMy brother-in-law Erich Anderson passed this morning after a brutal struggle with cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMichael went on to list some of the many highlights of Erich\u2019s career, saying: \u201cHe was on that old show \u2018Thirtysomething\u2019; he was Felicity\u2019s father on \u2018Felicity\u2019; he was killed in a basement in a \u2018Friday the 13th\u2019 movie.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also said Erich had a role in \u2018Star Trek\u2019 before adding: \u201cHe was a smart and funny guy, a fantastic cook; he wrote three great novels which you can find on Amazon. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ll miss him but his ordeal is over.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAlong with Erich playing main character Felicity\u2019s dad in the self-titled TV comedy from the late-1990s, Erich was Rob Dier in \u2018Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nHe had stayed out of the limelight in recent years and his last film was the 2020 short, \u2018Those Who Wait\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nFans of the actor have flooded the comment section of Saxon\u2019s post with their memories of him and condolences for his family.<\/p>\n
\nMany of them said he was an \u201cacting great\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nAmong the celebrity tributes was a message to Saxon from \u2018Yellowstone\u2019 and \u2018House of Lies\u2019 actor Brad Schmidt, 45, who said: \u201cThinking about you during this time Saxon. Love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nActress Eve Gordon, 63, who played Erich\u2019s on-screen wife on Felicity, added on Instagram: \u201cMy beautiful friend, Erich Anderson, has said goodbye. He was a magnificent part of the world. I loved him. I wish you\u2019d known him, there was no one like him. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo funny, so open to whatever the day brought him, so wickedly cynical and joyous at once. We\u2019d hang out and talk for hours. He was so smart.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAh, look at this Erich, I\u2019m using the past tense. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy friend, I hope I see you again in dreams and other dimensions. <\/p>\n
