Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> avoided a seriously painful encounter.<\/p>\n The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs<\/strong><\/a> tight end appeared alongside his teammates for a visit to the White House to meet President Joe Biden<\/strong><\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n During his brief moment at the podium alongside the President of the United States, he seemingly joked that he was threatened with getting tased after approaching the podium last year.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMy fellow Americans. It\u2019s nice to see you all yet again. I\u2019m not gonna lie, President Biden<\/strong>, they told me if I came up here I\u2019d get tased. So, I\u2019m gonna go back to my spot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n On Wednesday\u2019s episode (June 5) of his New Heights<\/em> podcast, Travis<\/strong> said he actually received a warning from members of the Secret Service.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s real. The secret service that\u2019s all over the White House, they weren\u2019t too happy with me. They weren\u2019t too happy with me on my second time visiting,\u201d he said. He also admitted he didn\u2019t have proper ID during the last visit.<\/p>\n \u201cLast time, I was talking about how I had an expired ID\u2026I caught s\u2013t for that.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI made sure, because of what happened last time and how embarrassed I was for going to the White House with an expired ID, I made sure that I brought my passport with me this time. I was doing things the right way because everyone has to do that at the White House.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWhen I walked in, we had about four or five secret service members come up to me and go, \u2018You know that if you go up to that podium we are authorized to tase you. It is actually ordered for us to tase you,\u2019\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n He added that he had \u201cno idea\u201d President Biden<\/strong> would invite him to speak this time.<\/p>\n \u201cHe walked right up and the first thing he said was [to] give me the floor. I felt taser aimed at me when I was up there the whole time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAny time that I get a chance to get recognized by the President of the United States and get to go with my teammates, and a group of men and women that I had success with to the point where we get to get acknowledged, man, I\u2019m doing it every single time,\u201d he went on to say. \u201cNo matter who\u2019s up there at the helm, no matter what\u2019s going on in this world, I think it\u2019s just such a cool opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n See more from the Chiefs visit to the White House, and watch the footage.<\/a><\/p>\n
