AT&T and Verizon are dealing with an outage causing dropped phone calls across the US. In a post on X<\/a>, AT&T confirms \u201cthere is an issue that is impacting completing calls between carriers\u201d and that the \u201ccarriers are working as quickly as possible to diagnose & resolve.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Verizon spokesperson Kevin H. King tells The Verge<\/em> that the network is \u201coperating normally\u201d but notes that customers primarily in the Northeast and Midwest \u201care experiencing issues when calling or texting with customers served by another carrier.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n We still don\u2019t know exactly when the outage started or what caused it. Verizon<\/a> and AT&T<\/a> charts on Downdetector suggest that problems may have started around 2PM ET. The Federal Communications Commission is also looking into the issue. \u201cWe\u2019re aware of reports that consumers in multiple states are unable to make wireless calls and we are currently investigating,\u201d the FCC writes in a post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
