In her edit, Perry reshaped the speech to appear supportive of the groups Butker had criticized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFixed this for my girls, my graduates, and my gays \u2014 you can do anything, congratulations and happy pride \ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\ud83c\udf08\ud83c\udff3\ufe0f\u200d\u26a7\ufe0f \ud83e\udde1,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7sSJyovXU7\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7sSJyovXU7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Perry captioned the post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the edited segment from the 2024 commencement address, Butker is seen saying: \u201cFor the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. I would venture to guess the women here today are going to lead successful careers in the world,\u201d the modified speech declares.<\/p>\n<p>The edited version continues with Butker saying: \u201cI say all of this to you because I have seen it firsthand, how much happier someone can be supporting women and not saying that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
