The 19-year-old actress, famed for starring in the long-running US TV series \u2018When Calls the Heart\u2019, suffered her \u201cmedical emergency\u201d on 11 May, according to a GoFundMe page aiming to raised money for her medical treatment, and her family have now added an update to the page telling fans of her horrific injuries.<\/p>\n
They said: \u201cFocusing now on Mamie\u2019s surgery today. Her body has been shattered. She has undergone two 11-hour surgeries with two doctors working on her, a three-hour surgery and another surgery today.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have nothing but gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have been exemplary in her care since May 26.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mamie\u2019s family added she was \u201cdoing well\u201d compared to when she arrived at the hospital, but said she\u2019s \u201cenduring tremendous pain\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThey said: \u201cWe can only hold onto the miracles of each day and continue to thank everyone for their prayers and marvel at the miracles of her story. Our daughter loves her life and loves her family and is fighting hard every day.:<\/p>\n
\nMamie\u2019s GoFundMe has now raised almost $36,000 for her treatment.<\/p>\n
\nShe was put on life support following her freak accident that saw her plummet five stories from a balcony. <\/p>\n
\nHer parents Rob and Nicole Compton previously said they expected Mamie\u2019s hospitalisation to last \u201cupwards of a month or more\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThe couple said in their original GoFundMe post on her accident and condition that her mum was \u201cable to get there in time to save her life\u201d after the actress\u2019 balcony fall, and was initially transported to a local hospital before being moved to a facility in Vancouver, where her condition was labelled \u201cunclear\u201d but showing \u201csigns of improvement\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nMamie has played nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan on the popular Hallmark show \u2018When Calls the Heart\u2019 since 2014, and a year later landed a 2015 Young Artist Awards win for Best Performance in a TV Series \u2013 Recurring Young Actress Ten and Under. <\/p>\n
\nAfter a years-long break from the series, she reprised her role in 2023 for the show\u2019s 10th season. <\/p>\n
\nThe actress has also appeared in \u2018Psych\u2019, \u2018The Hollow Child\u2019 and \u2018This Means War\u2019, alongside Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
