Mamie Laverock<\/strong>\u2019s mom, Nicole Rockmann<\/strong>, is setting the record straight about her daughter\u2019s fall from a five-story hospital balcony<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability,\u201d Rockmann told the Los Angeles Times<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, May 30, noting that the fall was not \u201cintended\u201d nor a suicide attempt.<\/p>\n

Rockmann added that the family intends to take legal action against St. Paul\u2019s Hospital, where the incident occurred. \u201cWe have a case. All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she\u2019s alive and that she\u2019s fighting and that she\u2019s strong,\u201d Rockmann said. \u201cIt\u2019s unbelievable that she\u2019s with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rockmann went on to note that Mamie, 19, had \u201cjust opened her eyes\u201d and was surrounded by one of her sisters and her father, John Laverock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tActress Mamie Laverock is receiving love from her former When Calls the Heart cast members after sustaining severe injuries from a five-story fall. The 19-year-old actress\u2019 parents, Nicole and Rob Compton, revealed via a GoFundMe page that their daughter experienced a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d on May 11 and was taken to the hospital after Nicole managed [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s just hope this is the turnaround and she\u2019s going to get through this now,\u201d Rockmann said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t be happier that people reached out and cared. The story will be told.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Rockmann did not detail Mamie\u2019s injuries, she noted that the When Calls the Heart<\/em> star\u2019s body is \u201cshattered\u201d and she is in \u201ctremendous pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ann Gibbon<\/strong> \u2014 a spokesperson for Providence Health Care, which operates St. Paul\u2019s Hospital \u2014 confirmed to the outlet that an \u201cincident happened\u201d at the hospital. However, she could not provide further specifics due to patient privacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn cases related to patient safety, an internal critical incident review is conducted to determine exactly what happened and to make recommendations for improved patient safety,\u201d Gibbon said. \u201cOur hearts go out to the patient, family, and all affected by this event, and we offer our best wishes for a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Mamie underwent a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d<\/a> and was transported to a hospital after Rockmann \u201cwas able to get there in time to save her life,\u201d per the GoFundMe page her family created.<\/p>\n

Mamie was subsequently taken to a hospital in Vancouver, Canada, where she was \u201cescorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.\u201d<\/p>\n
