She will be expected to work, which could either be food service tasks or factory jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet also noted that inmates are not allowed to wear any jewelry that is not a wedding band or a necklace, but these pieces can\u2019t be worth over $100.<\/p>\n<h2>How Does Jen Shah Feel About Her Prison Sentence?<\/h2>\n<p>Ahead of her prison sentence, Shah sat down with <strong>Justin Paperny<\/strong>, the director of White Collar Advice, to discuss her impending time behind bars. Conducting the interview exclusively on her website, Shah admitted to Justin that she was \u201cscared\u201d about her prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d be lying if I said I wasn\u2019t nervous,\u201d Shah confessed. \u201cWhat I fear the most is that transition of not being able to hug and kiss my boys and my husband every day and my mom. At the same time, I also feel hopeful and am motivated to do a good job and make the most of my time away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Revealing that there is a certain element of reprieve coming with her prison stay, however, the <em>Real Housewives\u00a0<\/em>star attested that she\u2019s looking forward to putting this chapter behind her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a sense of relief because throughout this entire journey there was so much ambiguity going through it and there was so much unknown,\u201d Shah said. \u201cAnd now for the first time, I\u2019m in a position where I know what is happening tomorrow. \u2026 There\u2019s a sense of relief that I\u2019m going to be able to put the past behind me, and finally start truly healing and forging a new path.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Will Jen Shah Complete a Mental Health Treatment Program After Prison?<\/h2>\n<p>Shah will need to enter a mental health treatment after prison, <em>Life &amp; Style<\/em> can confirm.<\/p>\n<p>Following her release from prison, Shah will be under supervised release for five years and is expected to complete the program during this time. Her probation officer must approve of the mental health program, while Shah will undergo drug testing 15 days after her release and at least two other drug tests, which will be determined by the court.<\/p>\n<p>According to documents obtained by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2023\/01\/15\/rhoslc-jen-shah-prison-release-conditions-mental-health-treatment-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>TMZ<\/em><\/a>, the Bravo personality must continue to take her prescribed medication when she gets out of prison unless her doctor tells her she can stop.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">What Did Jen Shah Do?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In March 2021, Shah and her assistant,\u00a0<b>Stuart Smith<\/b>, were arrested in Salt Lake City, and were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money-laundering.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At the time, federal authorities raided Shah\u2019s home and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifeandstylemag.com\/posts\/jen-shah-brings-gucci-purse-to-court-after-fakes-confiscated\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confiscated multiple counterfeit designer purses<\/a> and various jewelry accessories,\u00a0<i>In Touch<\/i>\u00a0can confirm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Despite initially pleading not guilty to the charges, the Bravo personality decided to plead guilty in July 2022. She admitted to Judge\u00a0<b>Sidney Stein<\/b>\u00a0that she \u201cagreed\u201d to \u201ccommit wire fraud\u201d from 2012 to March 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Shah\u2019s arrest played out during season 2 of\u00a0<i>RHOSLC<\/i>. During the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifeandstylemag.com\/posts\/who-hit-heather-gay-on-rhoslc-season-3-show-spoilers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">season 3 premiere<\/a> episode in September 2022, the reality star admitted to being fearful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI would be lying if I said I wasn\u2019t scared,\u201d Shah said. \u201cI\u2019m not thinking about myself, I\u2019m thinking about my family. I can\u2019t imagine being away from them. Many of the victims were over the age of 55, and court documents noted that some of Shah and Smith\u2019s targets were elderly people who did not own a computer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upon pleading guilty, Shah agreed to forfeit $6.5 million of the proceeds from the conspiracy and $9.5 million in restitution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The severity of Shah\u2019s crime played a significant role in how much time she was sentenced to serve. Although she requested a three-year reduced sentencing, claiming that her \u201cterrible business decisions\u201d were due to \u201cpersonal painful experiences,\u201d the United States government recommended that she be sentenced to 10 years behind bars, according to court documents obtained by\u00a0<i>In Touch<\/i>\u00a0on December 23, 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMany of those people suffered significant financial hardship and damage,\u201d the documents read. \u201cAt the defendant\u2019s direction, victims were defrauded over and over again until they had nothing left.
