Cynthia Nixon<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about And Just Like That<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 58-year-old actress got candid in an interview for Variety<\/a><\/em>, out now.<\/p>\n During the discussion, she addressed similarities between herself and her character Miranda Hobbes, the fate of the character Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez<\/strong><\/a>), Gilded Age<\/em>, and much more.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n On the growing similarities between her character Miranda Hobbes:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve grown much more like [Miranda] as I\u2019ve grown older, and she\u2019s grown much more like me. It was nothing that I was advocating for, but smart writers, particularly on long-term projects that keep going and evolving, try [to] put as much of the real person in that character as they can, because that\u2019s one of the things that makes television or film or theater so powerful \u2014 when the person playing the role has a personal connection.\u201d<\/p>\n On Che Diaz, portrayed by Sara Ramirez:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThey created such an amazing character \u2014 such a controversial character, but such an amazing character. I think they felt, and Michael Patrick<\/strong> felt, that that character had run its course. They came in and shook everything up, and then the arc was completed.\u201d<\/p>\n On Gaza:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI try to be careful and say I\u2019m very aware of the tremendous pain and suffering on all sides. But I don\u2019t want to live in a world where I can\u2019t say [that] the killing of unarmed civilians, 70% of whom are women and children\u2014 if I can\u2019t say that that is not OK, I don\u2019t know what kind of a world I\u2019m living in.\u201d<\/p>\n On her Gilded Age<\/em> character Ada Brook:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt would be, obviously, wonderful for someone who has always wanted to find love and hasn\u2019t to find it at this advanced age. But I think it was particularly sweet and precious for Ada, because she\u2019s such a relational person. She\u2019s a domestic person, and she\u2019s so much about her relationships, whether it\u2019s her sister or her relatives or her friends or the people who work in her house.\u201d<\/p>\n On filming And Just Like That<\/em> and The Gilded Age<\/em> simultaneously:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cOnce the summer starts heating up, it might get crazy, but right now it\u2019s OK. I mean, knock on wood.
