Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> and Hugh Jackman<\/strong><\/a> are opening up about their high-profile friendship. <\/p>\n The A-list stars stars first worked together on the set of 2009\u2032s X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/em>, where they played Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. Years later, they are reprising the very same roles in Deadpool & Wolverine<\/strong><\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n In a new interview, the pals reflected on what made their friendship work for more than a decade. Ryan<\/strong> even revealed one key way that his relationship with Hugh<\/strong> was similar to the one that he shares with his wife Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Speaking to People<\/a>, both stars reiterated that there was a healthy sense of trust and support.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s probably fewer friends in our life that you can say anything to, the stuff you\u2019re ashamed, embarrassed, anything,\u201d Hugh<\/strong> reflected, adding, \u201cAnd ever since I\u2019ve known you, and I would say in particular in like the last five, 10 years, we\u2019ve had more time where we go for our walks because you\u2019re an unbelievable listener.\u201d <\/p>\n He continued, saying, \u201cSo you can tell me anything and I can tell you anything, and I don\u2019t feel like you\u2019re going to be judging or necessarily giving me the answer: \u2018Do this.\u2019 And I think that has been the key.\u201d<\/p>\n Ryan<\/strong> weighed in, saying, \u201cI think the secret sauce to a long-lasting Hollywood friendship is not too dissimilar to having a partner or a marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am genuinely rooting for you, all the time. I want you to win. It\u2019s the same way I feel about Blake<\/strong>. As I\u2019m rooting for her, I know she\u2019s rooting for me, and it\u2019s why we\u2019re so connected,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n Of course, it doesn\u2019t hurt that the stars have a sense of humor.<\/p>\n While reflecting on their first experience on set, Ryan<\/strong> recalled his first interaction with Hugh<\/strong>, when the Wolverine star addressed him by his first name.<\/p>\n \u201cJust the fact that you knew my name meant so much to me. And you came over, you gave me a big hug and you said, \u2018Welcome aboard,\u2019\u201d he shared.
