Fans have debated for a while whether the series is scripted, mainly arguing over the producers\u2019 involvement. Each season has seen a handful of couples find their person and end up engaged without ever having seen their future spouse.<\/p>\n Season 1 took place in Atlanta, Georgia, and saw two couples say \u201cI do\u201d at the altar. Lauren Speed<\/strong> and Cameron Hamilton<\/strong> and Amber Pike<\/strong> and Matthew Barnett<\/strong> tied the knot in November 2018 and are still going strong today. Although two couples from season 2 got married at the end of the experiment, Iyanna McNeely<\/strong> and Jarrette Jones<\/strong> and Danielle Ruhl<\/strong> and Nick Thompson<\/strong> both announced their respective divorces in August 2022.<\/p>\n Alexa Alfia<\/strong> and Brennon Lemieux\u00a0<\/strong>and Colleen Reed<\/strong> and Matt Bolton<\/strong> tied the knot at the end of season 3 in the summer of 2021 and are still going strong. Hosted by Nick Lachey<\/strong> and wife Vanessa Lachey<\/strong>, season 4 found a new batch of singles, this time from Seattle, Washington.<\/p>\n After season 1 began in February 2020, online users questioned the spontaneity of the show, especially regarding the multiple engagements that occurred.<\/p>\n On Instagram, the sibling of one of the show\u2019s stars attempted to put everyone\u2019s fears to rest. According to contestant\u00a0Mark Cuevas\u2019<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0sister,\u00a0Melissa Cuevas<\/b><\/span><\/a>, the whole show is 100 percent real.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHow much of the show is scripted?\u201d one fan asked in the comments of the would-be groom\u2019s post. Instead of Mark answering, his sister stepped up to handle the question for him. \u201cNone of it!\u201d she answered simply.<\/p>\n Mark and fellow contestant\u00a0Jessica Batten<\/b><\/a>\u2019s engagement quickly fizzled out by the season finale when she left him alone at the altar, fueling more fans to doubt the accuracy of the series and its relationships. Mark went on to date and propose to his now-wife Aubrey Rainey<\/b>, whom he met after the season wrapped. He now shares two children with her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n However, it turns out that the\u00a0Love Is Blind<\/i>\u00a0showrunners were just as surprised by how many couples they ended up with that season. \u201cWe had actually more success on this show, from that standpoint, than we were even able to document,\u201d series creator\u00a0Chris Coelen<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0revealed in an interview with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0at the time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs a producer, I was kind of nervous like, is anybody actually gonna get engaged?\u201d he recalled. \u201cIs anyone going to make it to the altar. In the end, we actually had more couples get engaged than we were able to follow. \u2026 We only have so much time to tell a story, but there are lots of interesting stories.\u201d<\/p>\n Nevertheless, season 1 star Rory \u201cDrybear\u201d Newbrough<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0seemingly spilled the tea about how many romances the producers had actually prepared for. After he popped the question to now-ex-fianc\u00e9e,\u00a0Danielle Drouin<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span>,\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span>he spoke with\u00a0Women\u2019s Health<\/i>\u00a0in February 2020. In the interview, Rory explained how the production team broke the news that not every couple would continue on with the show.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey were like, \u2018We were expecting one or two [engagements], not eight! We set up to film five!’\u201d Rory explained at the time. \u201cThey just kind of gave us our phones back and said \u2018Good luck, thanks for joining us, but we just can\u2019t cover your story.’\u201d<\/p>\n As for season 2, fans will just have to use their judgment to decide its realism as events unfold.
