Ariana Madix<\/strong><\/a> and Katie Maloney<\/strong><\/a> felt production turned on them during the Vanderpump Rules<\/em> <\/a>season 11 reunion.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, May 29, episode of Katie and Dayna Kathan<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cDisrespectfully\u201d podcast<\/a>, the trio weighed in on the decision for producers to withhold the last few minutes of the finale until the cast could watch together at the taping.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hated the ending of it all. I hated that they waited to show us that five minutes because I was like, \u2018This feels mean and it\u2019s just mean towards Ariana,’\u201d Katie, 37, noted. \u201cThat wasn\u2019t for any of us. There was nothing shocking in it for any of us. It was only mean toward one person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ariana, 38, wasn\u2019t surprised by the tactic after previously shutting down attempts to film a scene<\/a> with ex Tom Sandoval<\/strong>, but also wasn\u2019t thrilled.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see me mouth [during the third part of the reunion] like, \u2018What the f\u2014k?\u2019 \u2026 Which was literally like, \u2018Oh, so this is what they\u2019re doing.\u2019 Because even when they emailed the episodes, they\u2019re like, \u2018You\u2019ll notice that you don\u2019t have [the end of the episode],’\u201d she recalled. \u201cBut then they didn\u2019t really say why.\u201d<\/p>\n

The intent behind making everyone watch the finale in real-time felt \u201cvery pointed\u201d for Ariana.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt, \u2018Well, we have her trapped in this room now. We didn\u2019t get what we wanted to get [during the finale]. We didn\u2019t get to break her down in real life in the moment,’\u201d Ariana continued. \u201c\u2018So we\u2019re gonna retaliate by doing that right now in a place where she\u2019s contractually obligated to be here and try to force this moment now.\u2019 Great, I cried. Are you guys happy now?\u201d<\/p>\n

The footage included several of Ariana\u2019s costars, namely Lala Kent<\/strong>, breaking the fourth wall by accusing her of not doing her job after she refused to film a one-on-one scene<\/a> with Sandoval.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just felt mean. It didn\u2019t affect me. It didn\u2019t affect anyone else in the way that it was gonna affect her,\u201d Katie said on the podcast before Dayna called the finale \u201cmanufactured\u201d due to outside attempts to force a conversation. \u201cThe authenticity is always there. I don\u2019t have fake fights. I don\u2019t create drama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ariana also pointed out that her dramatic exit was much more exciting than if she spoke to Sandoval.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSeason 11 of Vanderpump Rules documented Tom Sandoval\u2018s post-scandal apology tour \u2014 which has been met with mixed reactions. Sandoval was at odds with most of his costars when news broke in March 2023 about his affair with Rachel \u201cRaquel\u201d Leviss. After Sandoval and Ariana Madix\u2018s nearly decade-long relationship came to an end due to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s the thing that\u2019s so stupid. I gave them the best f\u2014king ending to what that season could have had in that moment by leaving. It was real and it was exciting to watch. Sorry, if you literally are only looking at it from a perspective of like good reality TV, I gave you good reality TV,\u201d she added. \u201c[A conversation] would have been a boring cap to a boring ass season, to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ariana felt like she showed more than enough of her personal life<\/a> mere months after ending her nearly decade-long relationship with Sandoval.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as real life stuff, that\u2019s always been real and authentic for me. I can\u2019t fake that. What did I not show you? I showed you my storage unit of a f\u2014king bedroom,\u201d she fired back. \u201cIf you watch the season and you don\u2019t see how low I am during the whole time, you need glasses. I showed all of that stuff. And if there\u2019s stuff that they filmed and then decided not to air, that has nothing to do with me. But I gave it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the reunion aired on Tuesday, May 28, executive producer Alex Baskin<\/strong> explained why they chose to shake up the format of the reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was important to make sure they saw [the finale together]. I also thought there would be a visceral impact if they had to experience it together on the stage. And that, if they all had to see it at once, that it was something they couldn\u2019t talk about before they were there,\u201d he told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> on Tuesday. \u201cSo I thought everyone would be accountable for what they said. And then the editorial team did such a wonderful job with the montage and brought us back to prior seasons that I sort of had chills. When we were watching from the control room, we all got chills. It was a super emotional and a really charged moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ariana stood her ground during the third installment of the season 11 reunion<\/a> as well. After Lala, 33, accused her of putting her livelihood at risk, Ariana clapped back, \u201cArguably, if you want to talk in show terms, me walking away from that conversation was a lot more interesting than me sitting there and having it. Was that not a better ending to your season? To give you another season for another paycheck?\u201d<\/p>\n
