When Calls the Heart<\/em> star Mamie Laverock<\/strong> is on life support after she fell five stories from a balcony.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply saddened to report that on May 26, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital<\/span><\/a> and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories,\u201d her family wrote on a <\/span>GoFundMe page<\/span><\/a> set up to help pay for the teen\u2019s medical bills. \u201cShe sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.\u201d<\/p>\n Her family added that they are all \u201cdevastated\u201d and \u201cin shock\u201d during \u201cthis intensely difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n Mamie, 19, suffered a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d<\/a> on May 11. Her mother, Nicole Compton<\/strong>, transported her to a Winnipeg hospital and was able to get there in enough time \u201cto save her life,\u201d according to the GoFundMe page. She was later transported to a hospital in Vancouver, Canada.<\/p>\n \u201cHer recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement, Mamie\u2019s family<\/a> wrote after her initial hospitalization. \u201cWe are trying to go every day to support her. Any contributions would help us be by her side. But this could be upwards of a month or more.\u201d<\/p>\n After it was revealed she was put on life support, many of Mamie\u2019s When Calls the Heart costars took to social media to encourage fans to donate to her family.<\/p>\n \u201cI just donated. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.\u201d<\/p>\n
