The Vanderpump Rules<\/strong><\/a><\/em> season 11 reunion just wrapped on Tuesday (May 28), marking the end of the show\u2019s current season.<\/p>\n While it hasn\u2019t officially been renewed for another season, it also won\u2019t be returning any time soon, as the Bravo<\/strong><\/a> series is taking a break from filming<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a new post-reunion interview, the show\u2019s executive producer and showrunner Alex Baskin<\/strong> is opening up about the future of the hit show and when they could start filming again.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cObviously there\u2019s been a lot of speculation. People have written the show\u2019s final chapter many times, and the show has continued,\u201d he told THR<\/a><\/em>. \u201cSo just because it\u2019s a reflective moment that clearly marks the end of one chapter does not necessarily mean that it is the end of the show. You see there is still a lot of fertile ground and developments in their lives, so I think it would be very premature that just because we really close the book on Scandoval in a lot of ways, because it was this moment that sort of blew up everything and that extended into the next season, does not mean necessarily that the show is over.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe thought the break was the right way to go because, to your point, we would have run this back again fairly quickly and it\u2019s clear that everyone needs time to reset,\u201d Alex <\/strong>added. \u201cI think we\u2019re going to take a full look at what the group looks like in a period of time and figure out what we want to do next. And that may mean that certain people have to make decisions as well. We don\u2019t want anyone to do the show if it doesn\u2019t make sense for where they are now. Typically, we\u2019ve shot in the early part of July, around there, so we would be in pre-production basically starting next week. And I don\u2019t think that would be great. I don\u2019t think that would have been enough time. So I think we as a show will gather ourselves and look at what we want to do, and that will be informed by what everyone individually wants to do. And then we\u2019ll figure out what the path is going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n So, when could the show start filming again? It looks like the fall or winter\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t have a definite timeline. It isn\u2019t indefinite, but at the same time, we\u2019re not under any version of the ticking clock. I imagine we\u2019ll know more later in the fall,\u201d Alex <\/strong>said, adding he doesn\u2019t think season 11 is the end of the show.<\/p>\n \u201cOn the one hand, I can\u2019t believe it\u2019s been 11 years, on the other hand, it feels like it\u2019s been 111 years. That show has had many lives and so I\u2019m not so sure this is the last one. But it certainly to date has been a hell of a run,\u201d he said, adding that the ratings are really strong and audience interest seems to be there.<\/p>\n He also noted that there\u2019s a chance the cast could change. Season 11 featured longtime stars Tom Sandoval<\/strong><\/a>, Ariana Madix<\/strong><\/a>, Scheana Shay<\/strong><\/a>, Tom Schwartz<\/strong><\/a>, Katie Maloney<\/strong><\/a>, Lala Kent<\/strong><\/a> and James Kennedy<\/strong><\/a>, as well as Scheana<\/strong>\u2018s husband Brock Davies<\/strong><\/a>, James<\/strong>\u2018 girlfriend Ally Lewber<\/strong><\/a> and Schwartz<\/strong>\u2018s friend Jo Wenberg<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s still a strong core there. So I could totally see some version of the bulk of the cast returning and then some notable additions. I think there\u2019s plenty of life. What form that takes, I don\u2019t exactly know. But that\u2019s certainly very possible,\u201d Alex <\/strong>said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we will take a thorough look at what our options are and potentially then come up with a path forward that is fresh and different, but at the same time use the foundation of the show that has been so successful over the last 11 years,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe don\u2019t know exactly what that is, but we\u2019ll figure out who wants to come back, how that makes sense, how that all stitches together, and how we can potentially continue the show but set it on a different course.\u201d<\/p>\n Lisa Vanderpump<\/strong><\/a> herself also recently addressed the speculation<\/a> that the show is canceled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
