Actress Mamie Laverock is on life support after a freak accident that saw her plummet five stories from a balcony<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old, famed for starring in the long-running US TV series \u2018When Calls the Heart\u2019, suffered a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d on 11 May, according to a GoFundMe page aiming to raised money for her medical treatment.<\/p>\n
Her mum Nicole Compton was \u201cable to get there in time to save her life\u201d and transported her to a local hospital.<\/p>\n
Mamie was later transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, where her condition was labelled \u201cunclear\u201d but showed \u201csigns of improvement\u201d.<\/p>\n
Her family revealed her condition on their GoFundMe page statement, which said: \u201cWe are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMamie\u2019s page has so far raised more than $15,000.<\/p>\n
\nSeveral of her TV co-stars took to social media to urge fans to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. <\/p>\n
\nJohannah Newmarch, 52, who plays Mamie\u2019s on-screen mum Molly Sullivan on \u2018When Calls the Heart\u2019, said on X: \u201cI love this family, my heart is broken. <\/p>\n
\nA devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey need all the support they can get to make it through this.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nErin Krakow, 39, who has starred in \u2018When Calls the Heart\u2019 for 10 years, and her co-star Loretta Walsh told their followers they donated to Mamie\u2019s GoFundMe and urged fans to do the same.<\/p>\n
\nMamie has played nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan on the hit Hallmark show since 2014, and a year later landed a 2015 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series \u2013 Recurring Young Actress 10 and Under. <\/p>\n
\nAfter a years-long break from the series, she reprised her role in 2023 for the show\u2019s 10th season. <\/p>\n
\nThe actress has also appeared in \u2018Psych\u2019, \u2018The Hollow Child\u2019 and \u2018This Means War\u2019, alongside Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
