The Voice<\/em><\/a> season 25 is coming to a close, but the competition between the final five vocalists is fierce. Newcomer coach Reba McEntire<\/strong> has two contestants competing in the finale, including fan-favorite country artist Josh Sanders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Though Josh is a standout country artist on team Reba now, he was more of a rockstar in his earlier years. He learned to play the guitar as a teen and joined a band called Smokin\u2019, according to his official bio<\/a> for The Voice<\/em>. The 35-year-old dad of four then went on to play in several other bands, performing gigs on Rock Legends cruise ships, as well as stages across the East Coast. However, he ultimately decided to leave the rock life behind to settle down and start a family.<\/p>\n Josh auditioned<\/a> for The Voice<\/em> with a rendition of Nate Smith<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cWhiskey On You,\u201d earning chair turns from both Reba and Dan<\/strong> + Shay<\/strong><\/a>. He chose to join team Reba, telling the other coaches that he couldn\u2019t \u201cturn down the Queen of Country,\u201d and he\u2019s been there ever since. His other performances have included Luke Combs<\/strong>\u2018 \u201cWhen It Rains It Pours,\u201d Tyler Joe Miller<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cWild As Her,\u201d the Doobie Brothers\u2019 \u201cBlack Water,\u201d Thomas Rhett<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cAngels (Don\u2019t Always Have Wings)\u201d and Chris Stapleton<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cWhite Horse.\u201d<\/p>\n Josh is from Kannapolis, North Carolina. He grew up in a family of musicians and started playing bass guitar as a child in his church band, his bio states.<\/p>\n Josh has known his wife, Kendra<\/strong>, since they were neighbors at 5 years old. The couple welcomed three daughters, and later, a son named Leelynd. Unfortunately, Leelynd died the day he was born. Josh and Kendra went on to complete their family with another daughter, and the country singer channeled his emotions over their son\u2019s death into his music and his faith.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Josh isn\u2019t with all his girls, you will find him hunting or helping around Kendra\u2019s grandmother\u2019s farm,\u201d his bio concludes.<\/p>\n Fans can watch Josh compete against the other four finalists \u2014 Karen Waldrup<\/strong><\/a>, Nathan Chester<\/strong>, Asher HaVon<\/strong><\/a> and Bryan Olesen<\/strong> \u2014 one last time in part one of The Voice<\/em> season 25\u2019s finale on May 20 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
