Halle Berry<\/strong><\/a> has fond memories of her time in Bedrock.<\/p>\n The actress shared an Instagram video on Sunday, May 26, remembering her role as seductive secretary Sharon Stone in The Flintstones<\/em><\/a> as the movie marks its 30th anniversary.<\/p>\n \u201cYou guys message me every year about The Flintstone<\/em>s film so I thought I\u2019d do something special for the 30th anniversary \ud83e\uddb4 \ud83e\udd0d Love you all for loving Miss Stone all this time,\u201d Berry, 57, captioned the post.<\/p>\n In the video, Berry rewatches scenes from the 1994 comedy and recalls memories from the set.<\/p>\n \u201cI legit haven\u2019t seen this movie in probably 20 years,\u201d says the actress.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so young me,\u201d Berry recalls her breathy voice in the movie as Sharon greets Fred Flintstone (played by John Goodman<\/strong>) for the first time.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the hair, of course. The hair that became iconic,\u201d she adds of her short hairdo that became the star\u2019s signature look in the \u201890s.<\/p>\n Berry also reflected on the significance of playing a Black character in The Flintstones<\/em>, a live-action adaptation of the classic 1960 animated sitcom.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing a Black woman in Bedrock seemed like a little thing but, you know, The Flintstones<\/em> was the fabric of our culture,\u201d says Berry. \u201cI knew that this was a big step forward for Black people, Black women especially.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhile it was silly, and it was over the top and campy, I knew then how important this little part in this big movie actually would be,\u201d says the Oscar winner.<\/p>\n As well as Berry and Goodman, The Flintstone<\/em>s costarred Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong>, Rick Moranis<\/strong>, Elizabeth Perkins<\/strong>, Kyle MacLachlan<\/strong> and Elizabeth Taylor<\/strong> in her final theatrical movie role.<\/p>\n Berry\u2019s part was initially offered to the actual Sharon Stone<\/strong>, who reportedly<\/a> declined due to scheduling issues.<\/p>\n Berry previously celebrated her character in an X post in 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone said, \u2018oh why would you want to do a movie based on a cartoon?\u2019 .. to see 28 years later, that this character has become so beloved and has resonated with so many of you is so gratifying \ud83e\udd0e draped in brown, but Miss Stone is still the blueprint,\u201d she tweeted.<\/p>\n everyone said, \u201coh why would you want to do a movie based on a cartoon?\u201d .. to see 28 years later, that this character has become so beloved and has resonated with so many of you is so gratifying \ud83e\udd0e draped in brown, but Miss Stone is still the blueprint. https:\/\/t.co\/VMHEWkTQbH<\/a><\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
