Morgan Wallen<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s legal troubles have hindered his attempts to open a bar in Nashville\u2019s busiest nightlife district yet again.<\/p>\n

Wallen\u2019s long-planned joint venture with TC Restaurant Group, named This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, failed to open as scheduled this weekend. The delay comes as Wallen is facing three felony counts of reckless endangerment<\/a> and disorderly conduct. Those charges stem from an incident in April where Wallen, 31, allegedly threw a chair off the roof of fellow country star Eric Church<\/strong>\u2019s Chief\u2019s Bar in downtown Nashville.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud of our team who has worked tirelessly to prepare Morgan Wallen\u2019s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen for opening. The ground-up construction of a six-story venue launching with hundreds of team members is a tremendous amount of work and a complex process,\u201d the ownership group told Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cWhen we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

The delay comes mere days after Nashville City Council resoundingly rejected<\/a> the bar\u2019s request to hang a 20 foot-tall neon sign outside of the establishment. The sign would have read \u201cMorgan Wallen\u2019s This Bar.\u201d That request was voted down by a count of 30-3 with four council members abstaining. Council members pointed to Wallen\u2019s history of arrests and using racial slurs<\/a> in their reasoning for nixing the signage.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMorgan Wallen has become the bad boy of country music after facing a series of scandals throughout his career. The \u201cWhiskey Glasses\u201d singer got his start on season 6 of The Voice in 2014, where he was a member of Adam Levine\u2019s team but got knocked out during the playoffs. \u201cI don\u2019t want to see a billboard up with the name of a person who\u2019s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs,\u201d council member Delishia Porterfield<\/strong> said on Tuesday, May 21.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis comments are hateful,\u201d council member Jordan Huffman<\/strong> added. \u201cHis actions are harmful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallen\u2019s country music peers have taken the opportunity to take the chart-topper down a peg<\/a>. During the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this month, presenters Ashley McBryde<\/strong> and Noah Reid<\/strong> reworked his hit song about hungover regrets, \u201cLast Night,\u201d to be about Wallen\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n
