Marking another public display from the couple after taking their relationship onto Instagram, Emily, 35, and French film director Romain, 45, were photographed kissing and walking hand-in-hand through the Italian capital, with Emily’s five-year-old son Sylvester Apollo Bear also accompanying them.
The model wore a black halterneck minidress with white Puma trainers, while Romain opted for a loose khaki top, white tracksuit bottoms, Asics trainers and a Ralph Lauren cap.
The couple were first romantically linked after being spotted kissing in New York and have subsequently shared their relationship publicly on social media.
Romain has previously been in relationships with pop stars Dua Lipa and Rita Ora.
He and Dua were linked in 2023 before ending their relationship later that year.
The romance is Emily’s most significant public relationship since the breakdown of her marriage to film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, 45, with whom she has son Sylvester.
Emily and Sebastian separated in 2022 after four years of marriage, with their split coming amid reports concerning alleged infidelity on his part.
The model has since spoken extensively about her experiences following the collapse of the marriage, most recently in a highly personal essay for The Cut about sex, dating and her identity as a single mother.
She wrote: “Six months after my son was born, my husband and I stopped having sex. Less than a year later, we separated.”
Emily said she subsequently began dating as she attempted to work out what kind of woman she wanted to become after divorce.
Writing about how she felt others viewed her after the separation, she said: “I hated the condescending way people looked at me in the wake of my break-up.”
She added: “I couldn’t stand my pathetic reflection in their eyes.”
The essay generated widespread attention and has now led to another major project for Emily.
She secured a seven-figure deal with Penguin Press for her forthcoming book Mother F***** after a reported 12-way bidding war among publishers.
The book is expected to expand upon themes explored in her essay, examining modern female identity through Emily’s experiences of dating in New York while raising her son as a single mother.
It follows her bestselling 2021 essay collection My Body, in which Emily explored subjects including feminism, sexuality, power and the commodification of her image.
Emily first became internationally famous after appearing in Robin Thicke’s controversial music video for Blurred Lines and subsequently established an acting career.
Her best-known movie appearance came opposite Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in David Fincher’s 2014 psychological thriller Gone Girl, in which she played Andie Fitzgerald.
Her other screen credits include We Are Your Friends, alongside Zac Efron, I Feel Pretty with Amy Schumer and Lying and Stealing.
Emily’s romantic life has attracted considerable attention since her separation from Sebastian.
She was linked to Brad Pitt and subsequently dated comedians Pete Davidson and Eric André.
Emily was also photographed kissing Harry Styles in Tokyo in March 2023.
