Paris Jackson has been engaged twice
The 28-year-old musician – who has been sober for six years – admitted she ended her engagement to Justin Long in July 2025 in order to “be happy”, but she also revealed it wasn’t the first time she had made plans to marry a partner, even though she doesn’t know if one of them would “count” as real.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she said of her split from Justin: “It was a choice that I needed to make to be happy.
“As far as the public side of it goes, I’ve had people write about my break-ups before, so it’s not that big of a deal. This is also my second engagement that I called off.
“The first one, I don’t know if you could count the first one. It was real to me even though we were strung out on drugs and the ring was one that he bought with my money without me knowing. It was still, like, the love was so real for me in that first one.”
Paris didn’t reveal who her first fiance was.
The Star actress, who is the daughter of the late Michael Jackson and his second wife Debbie Rowe, admitted it took her some time to finally end things with Justin.
She said: “There were times where I did try and end it, but there was this little voice being like, ‘But what if, however long down the line,’ and this is a voice that a lot of us have, of ‘if I had just hung in there a little bit longer, it would have gotten better.’ ”
Paris is a “person that needs to be sure,” and there had been people in her life asking the right questions” about her relationship with Justin.
She added: “My answers weren’t good enough. Just because I’ve realised just because someone is a good person doesn’t mean they’re my person.
“It doesn’t matter that you’re a good person and you’re not gonna cheat on me. That’s not a reason to stay.”
When it comes to her next partner, Paris has vowed to be “a little bit pickier”.
She said: “I’m not willing to overlook a bunch of things.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, I can be a little bit pickier.’ You know, the bar can be raised a bit because it’s historically been very low.”
