With the recent talks about a possible “Glee” reboot, this video essay talks about Ryan Murphy and the criticism he’s received over the years from fans, to people who’ve worked with him talking about a toxic environment, to real-life figures he’s made shows about and gotten criticism from, his “true crime” obsessions, his poor representations of women and minorities (while under the guise of ‘representation’).
However, despite the internet’s apparent “fall out” with Ryan Murphy, he still continues to make shows, win awards, and A-list actors continue to choose to work with him and promote this content.
What do you think, ONTD? Do we need a Glee reboot in this day and age? How about the ethics that his shows portray and the people who continue to enable it? Should they be held accountable?
