Steve Guttenberg and Emily Guttenberg have officially finalized their divorce, nearly a year after confirming their split.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Friday (May 29), the former couple entered into a settlement agreement on March 17, ending their marriage after more than five years together.

Steve will pay Emily a spousal support buyout
As part of the agreement, the 67-year-old Police Academy star will pay Emily a $700,000 spousal support buyout. Steve will also retain his earnings from before, during, and after the marriage, along with his personal belongings and cash assets.
On their Pacific Palisades home
The settlement also addresses the couple’s Pacific Palisades home, which survived the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that swept through the area in January 2025.
Steve will keep ownership of the property, though Emily is permitted to return to inspect and retrieve her personal belongings, clothing, and other items, in addition to arranging for her possessions to be moved into storage.

Steve will pay for Emily’s hotel stay until she finds a new place of residence
Steve has agreed to cover Emily‘s stay at a luxury hotel at a cost of approximately $2,000 per month and allow her to spend up to $5,000 monthly on his credit card until she finds an apartment by July 1.
The actor and his now ex-wife signed a prenuptial agreement in June 2018 before marrying in January 2019.
Many other celebrity couples have also gotten divorced in 2026.
