A Love Island USA season eight contestant has reportedly already been removed from the villa.
The Peacock reality dating series hasn’t even premiered it’s new season and previously announced contestant Vasana Montgomery will no longer be on the show, Just Jared can confirm.
Per TMZ, the 25-year-old business owner from Beaverton, Oregon, was “kicked off the show” just days before the season premiere after videos surfaced online of her using a racial slur.
One video shows Vasana rapping along to a song where she says the n-word, while another clip shows her yelling the same word to a friend who is playing an arcade game.
Sources tell Just Jared that the videos that surfaced appear to be privately owned and were not shared publicly until after the cast was announced, therefore, they were not available during the vetting process.
Last year, during one of the first episodes of season seven, contestant Yulissa Escobar was announced to have “left the villa,” and it was later revealed that she was removed after resurfaced clips showed her using a racial slur.
Vasana nor Love Island USA have spoken out about her status on the show. Her photos remain on the show’s Instagram account.
However, an Instagram user who commented on her cast photo saying they were her bestie has spoken out.
Miriam Cintora took to Instagram story to react to the resurfaced videos, writing, “It’s honestly really sad what I have been made aware of just recently that I don’t even know what to say.”
“I was trying to be a supportive friend to the person I have known [sic] for 5 years,” they continued. “And in all of that time I have never known them to be what those videos have shown. People can change and grow and I will believe that until I am proven wrong.”
They then addressed Love Island USA fans coming to her account.
“It’s also unfair to come and hold ME accountable for SOME ELSES actions. That is not who I am, nor do I condone it,” they said. “But I will not stand for your comments when you haven’t even had one singular experience with either one of us.”
