Paul McCartney is doing the press rounds to promote his new album “The Boys of Dungeon Lane”. While the 83-year-old is out giving interviews to “newer” platforms like podcasts, don’t expect to see him on Broski Royal Court anytime soon.
In an interview with ‘The Rest is Entertainment’, he was asked what modern day societal archetype confuses him and he said he just “doesn’t really get” influencers.
“I think it’s funny – and I suppose it always happened – but people who don’t seem to be particularly talented are incredibly famous. Billions of hits and views,” McCartney did concede, “You’ve got to be careful about saying that, because it makes you sound very old-fashioned,” before adding, “Which I am.”
“Think about it. What were we doing when we started? We’re at school, you go to the careers master and he tells you you’re hopeless – there’s nothing out there for you. And then you get in a group and start to do well. What is it you’re looking for? Approval. Money.”
Later on the interview he discussed growing up working class and how he stays grounded.
ONTD, do you have a favorite influencer? Do you think Paul McCartney should get a tag?
