A DNA sample has been processed by a lab working with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, and now it’s with the feds.
It’s a “mixed sample,” meaning there are multiple sources of DNA. They are working to separate them and figure out what is significant.
Sheriff Nanos warns this could take some time, even up to 6 months.
Two dozen investigators are still actively working the case.
