Khloe Kardashian was “conned” into joining Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Khloe Kardashian starred on the reality show

The 41-year-old star boarded the hit reality TV show in 2007, and Khloe has now revealed the instrumental role that Kris Jenner, her mom, played in the negotiations.

She told The Morgan Stewart Show podcast: “I never was like, ‘Gosh, I gotta be famous. I need to be on TV.’ Kourt and I, when we were approached to do the show by my mom and Kim [Kardashian], we said, ‘No, we’re not doing this show.'”

At the time, Khloe and Kourtney had just opened their fashion boutique Dash in Calabasas, and the pair were firmly focused on running their business.

She said: “How my mom conned us into doing it was, she said, ‘Think of it as a commercial for the store.’ Cause all we wanted to do [was focus on the store].”

Khloe explained just how hands-on the sisters were with the business at the time.

She said: “We had no employees. It was just me and Kourt.

“We had a kids’ store and the women’s store. And she was at the kids’ store; I was at the women’s store. We did everything—the cleaning, the taxes, the steaming of the clothes. We had not one employee. We didn’t know what the f*** we were doing.”

Khloe now balances her family life with her various business ventures.

However, an insider recently claimed that Khloe is “not involved in strategy or operations” for Good American, the clothing company she co-founded with Emma Grede in 2016.

A source told Us Weekly: “Khloe is still an investor in Good American but she has focused her time and attention on her newest podcast project and her Khloud line which she is hoping to release more new products soon.”

Khloe launched a protein popcorn, Khloud by Khloe Kardashian, in 2025, while she’s adopted a hands-off approach towards Good American in recent years.

The insider explained: “She is not involved in strategy or operations for Good American but is still an ambassador.”
