BET is bringing a major night of music and purpose to TV screens on Sunday (April 5).
The network will air the HBCU Awarefest Benefit Concert Special on Sunday (April 5) at 9 p.m. ET.
The special captures the inaugural HBCU Awarefest concert, filmed at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The special concert features a star-studded lineup including Jill Scott, Tems, Common, Jeezy, Yolanda Adams, Coco Jones, Kirk Franklin, and BigXthaPlug.
In addition to performances, the event includes appearances from major cultural and civic figures like Robert F. Smith, Tyler Perry, Angela Yee, Kandi Burruss, Angel Reese, Anthony Anderson, and Deon Cole, among others.
The mission behind the HBCU Awarefest is to raise awareness for Historically Black Colleges and Universites and help address the student loan debt critics impacting their students. It’s part of a larger week-long series of events in Atlanta, focused on supporting Black higher education.

HBCU Awarefest has already achieved historic milestones, including a Georgia Senate resolution declaring March 26, 2026, as HBCU Awarefest Day, recognizing the inaugural festival’s mission to address the student loan debt crisis and expand economic mobility for students at HBCUs.
