OP fave Vincent Philip D’Onofrio (66yr – looked it up bc I was curious) is on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote his role as Kingpin on Daredevil: Born Again. They discuss D’Onofrio’s weight gain for his breakout role (~70lb [although he says 80lb here iirc]) in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket (1987). D’Onofrio reveals when Kubrick first called him about the role he hung up on him, thinking it was a prank.
(op: this interview was weird. it did not flow well. i also did not recognise d’onofrio. the person in my head from kingpin and criminal intent just did not match this person?? i saw the original daredevil series and hawkeye but not the new series or anything else he might’ve been in. i loved the comics..is the new series worth it?)
