Ryan Gosling is planning a trip to the fictional town of Salem, Illinois.
The 45-year-old Project Hail Mary star received a special invitation from star Deidre Hall to visit the set of long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives and Ryan has accepted.
While promoting his new sci-fi film on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Oscar-nominated actor revealed that Days of Our Lives, and particularly Deidre‘s performance as Marlena Evans, was a television staple for him growing up and throughout his career.

“They do not get the love they deserve,” Ryan said about soap opera actors. “The amount they have to memorize the night before, like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take, and it’s impossible scenarios.”
He praised Deidre for her ability to go back and forth between a “normal person” and someone “possessed by the devil,” calling it “an incredible acting class.”
Deidre then shared a sweet video message for Ryan via Josh and invited him to set, and Ryan responded in a video posted on Instagram, calling her his “OG acting inspiration.”
“This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation,” he said.
