Christy Carlson Romano is sharing a rare throwback photo of her high school classmates, Scarlett Johansson and Jack Antonoff.
The former Disney Channel actress, 42, posted a series of photos from the past to Instagram on Tuesday, March 24, as she announced her new memoir, Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Fall and Rise of a Child Star, which is due for publication in October.
Among the throwback snaps is a 2002 yearbook photo from her time at the Professional Children’s School in New York City, which Johansson and Antonoff also attended. (Other Professional Children’s School alumni include Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sarah Jessica Parker, Christina Ricci and Jerry O’Connell.)
In the picture, Johansson and Antonoff, both 41, can be seen posing at the top of a staircase with their fellow students. The Oscar nominee and multi-time Grammy winner reportedly dated at the time. (Prom pictures of the pair first hit the internet in 2014.)
“It took me two grueling years to write this memoir. I had to relive my lowest lows, my highest highs, and find the courage to share my most vulnerable moments with you,” Romano captioned her post on Tuesday.
“It’s risky. It’s honest. It’s the most empowered I’ve ever felt. And I’m proud to finally share it,” she continued.
All three Professional Children’s School students have gone on to enjoy success in Hollywood. Romano appeared in Disney Channel’s Even Stevens and voiced the main character in the animated show Kim Possible.
Johansson, meanwhile, is a two-time Oscar nominee, and Antonoff has won several Grammys, both as a producer on Taylor Swift’s 1989 and Folklore and as a member of the group Fun.
Johansson is now loved up with husband Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live fame, with whom she shares son Cosmo, 4. She also shares daughter Rose, 11, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
Antonoff famously dated Girls creator and star Lena Dunham in the 2010s. He married actress Margaret Qualley in August 2023.
“I think we’ve kind of been operating like a married couple since the beginning, so it wasn’t a drastic change, but I really love the security of it,” Qualley said of marrying Antonoff in a February 2024 interview with Elle UK.
“It would be hard for him to disentangle himself from me. I’m glad the law is involved,” she quipped.
In the interview, Qualley, 31, said she almost instantly knew Antonoff was the one for her while gushing about him to former Chanel creative director Virginie Viard during a fitting for a haute couture show.
“I’d met Jack probably two weeks before, but I was head-over-heels in love right away. I had a sure, knowing feeling that he was my husband,” she said.
