Margaret Josephs confirmed she won’t be returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, leading fans to wonder if there are answers on the horizon about the show’s future.
“Thank you and good night,” Margaret, 58, captioned an Instagram video on Tuesday, March 24, tagging Bravo, Andy Cohen and NBCUniversal.
“Hi guys, it’s The Marge, I’m dialing in. I have to tell you something that might come as a little surprise to you, but not for me,” Margaret told followers. “I’ve been thinking about a lot of different things and I am moving on from The [Real] Housewives of New Jersey.”
The reality star said she’s “been in the talks” with Bravo and Cohen since December 2025 to discuss her departure after seven seasons on the show. (Margaret made her debut during season 8 in 2017.)
“I think the timing is right. A lot of things have changed in my life. I’ve been blessed to work on a different project, I’m on the set right now,” she continued. “I realized I have to spend more time with my family, work on my designing and just take a break and move on.”
Margaret offered a shout-out to her cast, calling out both “the good and the bad,” saying that she has love for everyone.
“Very grateful for this opportunity,” she added. “This will not be the last you guys see of me on television. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise, and I’m excited for all the new opportunities and I’m grateful for all of you for supporting me for all these years.”
Margaret concluded, “You will see me very, very soon back on your TV screens. Love you.”
Fellow RHONJ star Danielle Cabral left a comment on the video.
“Why am I always the last to know?! To me, you were the GOAT,” she wrote. “You went out with the greatest mic drop of all time. Love you! Enjoy the peace.”
RHONJ “friend of” Jennifer Fessler also shared well-wishes to her former costar.
“Thank you for taking me along on your ride, my dear friend,” she added. “Being a ‘friend of’ the Marge was an honor and a privilege. Love you so much.”
Details about the future of RHONJ are still up in the air after the show’s season 14 finale in 2024.
Us Weekly confirmed in September 2025 that Bravo was test filming RHONJ episodes with some cast members, including Margaret, Dolores Catania and Melissa Gorga.
“They want to see how the new girls work on camera with some veteran cast members from the show,” an insider told Us at the time. The source noted that while Teresa Giudice, Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer did not test film, they were “still in consideration to be part of the new season.”
A Bravo spokesperson told Us at the time that “no official casting decisions have been made.”
Earlier this month, Us confirmed Margaret joined the cast of an upcoming reality series for Amazon alongside Savannah Chrisley, Kaitlyn Bristowe and more familiar faces.
