Kerosene, dopamine, chemical-induced / Fantasy and fame, yeah, the things we choose / Show me hate, show me love, make me bulletproof,” they sing, a reference to the original meaning of their name Bangtan Sonyeondan, or “Bulletproof Boy Scouts.”

The song was written by Sean Foreman, Livvi Franc, Ryan, Sean, RM, j-hope, SUGA, Kirsten Spencer, Derrick Milano and Pdogg.

SUGA seemingly references his 2020 song, “People,” declaring “Normal and special, they are just some lines.”

Fans noted that he said something similar in the 2018 docuseries, Break the Silence: “For me, I lost the ordinary. That’s the biggest change. What that means is — what’s ordinary to others is very special to me, whereas what’s special to others is very ordinary to me.”
